|AN INTRODUCTION...||Latest news|
I have taught all abilities and levels of art for over 30 years from nursery schools to nursing homes. Passionate about art and textiles I believe that given the right tools, everyone can draw and create. My desire is to share the joy of art and textiles as widely as possible. No experience is necessary and there are no age limits. I teach small groups at my home in Grayswood. The current timetable is Monday 12:30-2:30, Tuesday 10:00-12:00, Thursday Haslemere U3A 10:00-12:00, Friday 10-12 and a children's class Saturday 9:30-12. The classes cost £20 per session. Materials are provided initially with students acquiring their chosen media as the group develops. Classes are taught drawing skills using tone then a range of media is gradually introduced enabling students to develop their expertise and learn specific techniques. Students are introduced to watercolours, acrylics, oil paints, acrylic inks, charcoal, pen and ink, oil pastel, chalk pastel and mixed media and then given topics to explore. Ideas are discussed and expanded. To enhance learning and provide inspiration, visits to London Art Exhibitions are arranged. Additionally, I organise some day courses during which experts teach alternative skills. This year some students are attending a 3 day sculpture course and a watercolour workshop. I also run courses on machine embroidery and needle felting.
Please contact me and give it a try. Not only will you learn new skills, it's also a great way to make new friends and escape the busy world for a few hours.
